Scorched Bloodline

When the Font of Magic was ignited and the burn surged through the Underdark, the Sorcerer clans felt lava in their bones.  The circuitry of their blood was set aflame with arcane toxins.  Many did not survive the ordeal.  Those that did call themselves the Scorched.

Charred - Version 1.6

Curse of Destruction: you revel in the magic of destruction.  To see those that would hold you down, trap you, or hurt you burn to ash before you fills you with pure ecstasy.  But when you try to heal others, or aid them with protection, the weave surges with devastating consequences.  Anytime you cast spell that would heal any number of hit points, the spell instead deals damage of a random element equal the amount it would have healed.
  Elemental Table - Roll 1d6
  1 - Cold
  2 - Fire
  3 - Force
  4 - Lightning
  5 - Radiant
  6 - Necrotic
Arc's Ascension (1st Level): whenever you cast an Evocation spell with a spell attack, you have advantage on the attack roll.  If the attack hits, increase the damage dealt by 1 die step.  Treat each die in the damage pool as its own step to be increased.  For example, a spell that deals 2d6 damage is treated as two 1d6 components, so both increase to 1d8, therefore it deals 2d8 damage.  However, the bigger the spell, the more power one can pour into it.  Fireball normally deals 8d6, or 8 1d6 components, now 8d8.  At level 5, upon gaining the Arc Conduit, this will become more devastating than any could imagine.
   Complete Die Steps:  1d4-1d6-1d8-1d10-2d6-2d8-3d6-3d8-4d6-4d8-6d6-6d8-8d6-10d6-10d12-12d12

Backlash (1st Level): the surge of elemental destruction that flows from the arcanum inside you is devastating to your foes and to your own body.  For every spell attack you make, you suffer Backlash equal to 1d6 Psychic damage.  This damage increases to 1d8 at 5th level, 1d10 at 11th level, and 1d12 at 17th level.
Taxation of the Body: If you ever suffer Backlash equal to one quarter (rounded up) your maximum hit points or more, you must make a Constitution save against 1/2 of the damage (or 15, whichever is higher) or lose consciousness until the end of your next turn.
***Cantrip Fortification: Once you reach Level 4, cantrips become easier to control as your spirit hardens against the magic, numbing the pain.  Cantrip Backlash becomes 1d4.
Arc Conduit (5th Level): starting at 5th level, your Arc can be supercharged by sacrificing your mortal body.  You may purposefully take Backlash damage to further increase your die step damage on a spell attack.  You suffer Backlash for every step you increase (to a maximum of 12d12).  You may make this decision after knowing if the attack hits.
Burnt Arcanum (7th Level): your creeping scar tissue hardens when you breathe arcane energy into it.  When you cast a spell with a spell attack, regardless of if you hit or not, your AC increases by +2 until the end of your next turn.  This bonus does not stack by casting multiple spells.  This AC bonus increases to +3 when you reach 11th Level, and +4 when you reach 17th Level.
*Power Through Pain (9th Level): your suffering grants you focus through your arcane rage.  As a bonus action, you may choose to suffer Backlash increased by 1 die step in order to regain 3 Sorcery Points.
Conduit's Channel (11th Level): you may spend your Sorcery Points in a new way.  After suffering Backlash, you may spend 2 Sorcery Points to channel your affliction toward a creature within 30 feet of you.  Roll a spell attack (without advantage).  If you hit, deal the die damage of your own Backlash, as well as 3 additional dice of the same step.
Arcanum's Skin (17th Level): your Curse of Destruction takes its toll on your body and soul.  Spend half your total Sorcery Points (rounded up) to allow the Arcanum to consume your mortal body for as long as you can maintain it.  While in this state, you gain the following benefits:
+) You have resistance to all damage and Magic Resistance (advantage on all saves vs. magical effects).
+) Your spell attacks have Prime Advantage (the best of three rolls).
+) At the end of each of your turns, a shockwave of elemental energy disperses (before making any saves to maintain the form) in a 15-foot radius, dealing 2d8 of a random element (roll on the Elemental Table above).
+) You gain a fly speed of 50 feet, as wings of arcane fire spread out from your back.
+) Every round that you maintain this form, you regain 1 Sorcery Point and 10 Hit Points at the start of your turn.

While in this state, you also suffer immense strain on your mortal body.  When you first enter this state, you immediately suffer 2d12 Psychic damage as Backlash, and must make a Constitution save at the end of each of your turns to maintain the form.  The DC for this save starts at 10, but increases by 1 every consecutive round that the form is maintained.  If your concentration is broken in this way, you suffer 3d12 Psychic damage as the Arcanum is ripped from your body and you immediately suffer 2 points of Exhaustion.

Luminous - Version 0.1

Curse of Polarity: the elements that surround you fill you with hope.  You survived for a reason, and light pours through you.  Healing and protection comes easily, and you revel in helping others.  However, whenever you try to defend yourself, it backfires or fizzles.  Destructive magic is very difficult for you, and any spell with a spell attack is done with Disadvantage, dealing damage 1 die step lower (if the spell uses d4's, remove 1 die from the total, to a minimum of 1 die).
